Gone are the days when workforce had to adhere to conventional workstyles. As BYOD (bring your own device) getting into the enterprise parlance, Hewlett Packard (HP) is gung-ho over mobility. The networking major today unveiled a set of product and services to facilitate SMBs with enhanced scalability, reliability and security. These include solutions for infrastructure, networking and growth optimization. As 40 per cent of the workforce in Asia is mobile, HP sees huge potential in enterprise mobility and is focusing on SMB segment. The company also believes that mobility is all set to change organizational structure. HP Networking country head Prakash Krishnamoorthy said that they support infrastructure for always-on mobile workforce. “We enable productivity in a boundary-less workplace with security enhancement in devices,” he said.

The company announced MSR 3G and 802.11n wireless solutions and 1910 8G switch series for networking; unified communication and collaboration solutions; and client virtualization and business protection solutions. The new HP Client Virtualization SMB Reference Architecture for Microsoft VDI will be available in September, the company informed. Progression Infonet director JB Hooda believes that HP plays a vital role in enabling SMBs today. “Despite capital and skill restraints, SMBs' demands are closely related to that of large enterprises,” he said. Hooda also said that HP brings solutions and technologies at appropriate time and is well-positioned vendor in reliability, scalability and security. In addition, he said that the solutions are designed to meet customer requirements in a cost-effective fashion.
